Celebrating International Mother Language Day
A tiny effort to recall our privilege to freely express our thoughts, beliefs and values took place on 21st February, usually known as the "Shohid Dibosh" in Bangladesh. not sure how much those little kids, barely able to carry their backpack, really understand the significance of the day, but their enthusiasm made us optimistic. They will be able to value the sacrifice of the great martyrs like Salam, Rafiq, Jabbar and many. They will act on it properly to manifest the true pride of each Bangladeshi, who often takes it granted that they are the only nation to sacrifice lives to secure their rights to speak in their mother tongue.
When getting up and coming to school at 8:30 am in the morning seem tiring and scary to many of those little children, no lack of enthusiasm was traced to march toward the regional monument at 6 am in the morning. They all gathered excitedly in the school campus, carried the banners, festoons and flowers, and walked towards the monuments to place the flowers, a practice followed since 1953 to demonstrate our respects for the martyrs.
They young spirit, enthusiasm, and endless stamina made gave us the hope and strength to continue work for the future that we all have been dreaming of.
